Dr. John Roddam April 2024
I had a strange thing happen this week - I made a decision to narrow my focus in ministry. The next day I spoke with a friend living in Rome, Italy. He was married in 2017 and has a four-year-old daughter. Recently he was diagnosed with a large tumor in his abdomen impacting his heart. Doctors were suggesting this may be terminal. All my friend could think about was that his daughter would grow up without a father.
I had been restless that night and got up. At 2:30 PM my friend called and poured out his concerns. I prayed for peace to come to him. Then I had a picture of Jesus cursing the fig tree. Immediately, I found myself cursing the tumor, commanding it to die at its root and be eliminated from his body. The next day, I had a text sharing how he had had further tests, and the tumor was GONE!!
Such a blessing to this family. God is good!!
I had a similar thing happen while I was Rector of St. Luke’s, Seattle in the early 2000’s. One of our wonderful intercessors was having severe abdominal pain and made an appointment with her Family Physician. He in turn quickly made an appointment with a specialist. The initial diagnosis was dire, and the specialist wanted some more “pictures.” While waiting for this procedure, she called me and explained her situation. I prayed for the Lord’s Peace to enfold her and began to curse the tumor, commanding it to leave her body.
A few minutes later, she had the further tests. The doctor asked her to wait for the results. After 15 minutes or so, she was ushered into his office to see a perplexed doctor. He held two slides up and said, “I don’t understand this! On the first slide, there was a tumor which was quite worrisome. However, on the second slide - it was GONE!” He asked if she had any thoughts on what may have happened. Our dear saint shared how I had prayed and commanded the tumor to go! The doctor (a total pagan) winced at a spiritual connection but said he had to put “something" on her medical chart. He described this as a “Transitory Tumor” - now you see it, now you don’t!
